Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings Historic State Park is
located between Ocala and Gainesville in Cross
Creek, at 18700 S. CR 325.
Hours of Operation
Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings Historic State Park is
open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. every day.
Park Fees
The park is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and
there is currently (Dec 2001) no admission fee.
However, a $2.00 per car admission will be set
up early in 2002.
Guided Tours through the historic house are also
offered for a small fee. Tours are offered October
through July, Thursday through Sunday at 10 a.m.,
11 a.m. , and on every hour from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Guided tours are not offered Thanksgiving or Christmas
(although the grounds are open). Tours are $3.00
for adults, $2.00 for children aged 6 through
12, and free for children under 6.

Guided Tours
A 45-minute guided walk takes you through the
farmyard and into the historic Rawlings farmhouse.
Topics include Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings life and
work in Cross Creek and the history of her Cross
Creek home.
Guided walks are offered October through July
on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 10
am., 11 a.m., and on the hour 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
No tours are offered Thanksgiving or Christmas
days. Fees are $3.00 for adults, $2.00 for children
ages 6-12, children under 6 are free.
Nature Trails
The park has two loop walking trails through the
Florida woods and a recreated farmyard to wander
including historic structures, garden, ornamentals
and citrus grove. A self-guided walking tour brochure
is available for the farmyard and around the structures.
